· Marine Preserve – Jacques Cousteau proclaimed the Sea of Cortes , “The world’s aquarium” for its abundant marine life. Today, the Bay of Loreto is the largest natural marine park in all of Mexico .

· Spanish Missions and Architecture – Mission San Francisco Javier, established in 1699, is known as the “Queen of Missions” because it is so well preserved. This is just one of many missions and Old World architecture in Loreto and the surrounding area.

· Nautical Staircase Marina – As the centerpiece of the Mexican government’s plan for 27 linked ports, the new boating marina at neighboring Puerto Escondido serves small cruise ships, pleasure yachts and private watercraft.
